On the evening of Nov. 13, a Chinese film show was hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of the Bahamas in the auditorium of the university library. The audience included the students of the Confucius Institute and other students and faculty of the university, totaling about 40. The event was presided over by Dr. Chase, the Bahamian Co-Director of the Confucius Institute. The honorable Mr. Huang Qinguo, Chinese ambassador to the Bahamas and Dr. Linda Davis, the vice president and provost of the university attended the event and gave speeches. Three documentaries of “a Bite of China” series were shown for this event—“The Story of Staple Foods”, “the Secrets of the Kitchen” and “A Perfect Blending of the Five Flavors”, which vividly introduce the time-honored and profound Chinese food culture, making the audience feel more keenly the charm of Chinese culture. After the showing of the films, the audience had a lively interaction with Ambassador Huang about the content of the films, about the contemporary Chinese society and the chances of studying and working in China. At last, Ambassador Huang and Vice President Davis had a group photo with the audience, bringing the event to a successful completion.
