On the afternoon of Dec. 14, The 2017 Council Meeting of the Confucius Institute at the University of the Bahamas (UB) was held in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST). Prof. Liu Xuanfei, Vice President of NUIST and Dr. Linda Davis, Provost of UB attended the meeting and gave speeches. The members of the Confucius Institute Council and leaders of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, participants discussed and approved the members of the new council of Confucius Institute at the University of the Bahamas. After the members of the new CI council was approved, Prof. Fan, member of the CI council and Chinese Co-Director delivered a report on work of the Confucius Institute in 2017 with regard to Chinese Language education, HSK tests, Chinese Cultural Events and construction of CI faculty. He also presented a work plan for the Confucius Institute in 2018.
At the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of the Confucius Institute and also the hope that the Confucius Institute can make landmark achievements in the near future. Finally, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on the overall co-operation between the two partner universities and the future construction of the Confucius Institute. They expressed their desire to further advance the mutual collaboration and bring their cooperation to a new height.
