The Confucius Institute at the University of the Bahamas Successfully held the first YCT test in the second half of this year

On the morning of Nov. 18, the first YCT test in the second half of this year was held in Classroom 6, S Block. The candidates were 7 junior high school students from St. Andrews high school where there is a Mandarin classroom affiliated to the Confucius Institute.

The Confucius Institute made meticulous preparations for this test. The candidates were given mock YCT tests in advance. They were also given detailed instruction on test-related issues such as the correct way of writing the answer sheet. The before the test, the Confucius Institute staff inspected the test room, tested audio equipment used for the test, and made contingency plan against any possible accidents. They also requested relevant technical and security departments to give support for the test. At 9: 30 that day, the YCT test was concluded successfully.

The Confucius Institute at the University of the Bahamas, as the only official Chinese language teaching and testing center, has been organizing HSK/HSKK/YCT Chinese language proficiency tests for Bahamian high-school students, university students and other mandarin learners. In recent year, there is a rapid increase of HSK/HSKK/YCT candidates, which reflects the steady spread and popularization of Chinese language and Chinese culture.
